    EXPAT SHOP

    The Expat Shop (A family run business under the umbrella of Bralfiga CC a South African registered Close Corporation (1995/012158/23)) is a business in the retail industry that supplies, at competitive prices, all things ‘lekker’. That is we provide local / South African goods via mail.

    How amazing is it that South Africa produces so many well known and loved brands that are recognised all over the world.

    DELIVERY

    Surface Mail

    •        +/- 12 weeks.
    •        Slower but cheaper.
    •        Tracking system.
    •        No refunds on items that may expire in transit.

    Airmail

    •        Larger parcels.
    •        Tracking system.
    •        +/- 20 working days.
    •        No insurance.

    Airmail – Registered

    •        Smaller parcels, 900g or less.
    •        Tracking.
    •        No insurance.

    Courier

    Until we have aligned to a specific service provider, please contact us for a quote.

    Subject to availability and receipt of payment, requests will be processed within 3 days and delivery confirmed by way of system email.

    SHIPPING RATES

    Airmail and surface mail orders R100 000.00 and above = your cart items have reached our maximum loaded shipping rate and the shipping rate will have to be manually calculated and quoted.

    PACKAGING

    The Expat Shop will take all reasonable steps to adequately protectively pack all items to avoid damage and breakage.

    IMPORT & CUSTOMS / EXPORT RESTRICTIONS

    All international deliveries are subject to the import and custom laws of the country of delivery and the Expat Shop, whilst endeavouring to understand to the best of their ability these laws, cannot be held responsible for a parcel or item that is held for inspection or confiscated.  The onus is therefore on the client to ensure that items purchased via the Expat Shop will in no way contravene the import laws of the destination country.

    This is especially relevant to medicines and liquids (e.g.: wine and spirits, in terms of quantity per delivery).

    REFUNDS

    Ordered products are subject to availability

    If products have not been placed on backorder as requested by the client, the Expat Shop will refund the client in full within 30 days.

    Cancellation of orders by the client/purchaser will attract a 20% administration fee.

    RETURNS

    Please make sure that your order is 100% aligned with what you are expecting from your purchase as the Expat Shop, whilst taking every precaution to adhere to rules and regulations, cannot be held responsible for items that may have:

    •        Become stale between shipping and delivery
    •        Been tampered with enroute
    •        Become ‘unwanted’ between order placement and order receipt

    The provision of goods and services by the Expat Shop is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, Expat Shop will refund the client in full within 30 days. Cancellation of orders by the client will attract a 20 % administration fee.

    LIQUIDS / ALCOHOL

    Due to many restrictions (Postal Service / Courier / Customs), please contact us for “clearance” and quote.

    PRIVACY NOTICE

    The Expat Shop shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, "personal information" shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). The PAIA may be downloaded from:

    PAYMENT OPTIONS

    Payment may be made via Visa and MasterCard (Credit Card), PayPal and direct deposit.

    CARD ACQUIRING AND SECURITY

    Card transactions will be acquired for Expat shop via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for all South African Acquiring Banks. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no Card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.

    CUSTOMER DETAILS SEPARATE FROM CARD DETAILS

    Customer details will be stored by Expat Shop separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za.

    MERCHANT OUTLET COUNTRY AND TRANSACTION CURRENCY

    The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).

    RESPONSIBILITY

    Expat Shop takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including sale of goods and services sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.

    COUNTRY OF DOMICILE

    This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and Expat Shop chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature: De Waal Road, Somerset West, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa, 7130.

    VARIATION

    Expat Shop may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.
