Bakgat

The young production team behind the Afrikaans teen film, Bakgat!, represents a new breed of filmmakers that have arrived on the local movie scene. That’s according to writer and director Henk Pretorius. The film is about Wimpie Koekemoer, the biggest geek in the school, who is constantly embarrassed by his conservative mother and his strange father, especially in front of girls. Wimpie dreams of being popular, a wish that may come true when he is suddenly befriended by the most popular girl in school.
